Hong Kong Pony Club is hosting the 2009 Exchange and will take place from 24 July to 7 August in Hong Kong.
 
The NZ team will be selected on the weekend of 9th–11th January 2009 at Nga Tawa School, Marton (near
Palmerston North).
 
Application forms for prospective candidates will be available from Jan Danrell, the Canterbury Area Secretary
and on the website under ‘Overseas Tours/Resources’ on the riders’ page.

The Selection for the Canterbury Area PC representatives will be held at Canterbury Park, on Wednesday
19 November 2008, at 6.00pm., WITH YOUR HORSE.

Closing date is 15 November 2008, with the secretary. ALSO, please bring with you to the selection, your
two passport photos as specified below.
 
Areas contribution will be $1500 per rider and riders’ contribution will be $2500 per rider.
 
Criteria for Area Selection
 
The 16 Areas in New Zealand are invited to send up to TWO CANDIDATES forward to the National Selection.
Each candidate must:
1. Be a financial member of NZPCA.
2. Have fulfilled the criteria for the number of working rallies.
3. Be 17 years old at the start of the Inter-Pacific Rally but must not have reached their 21st birthday before the
first day of January in the year of the Exchange.
4. Be a holder of B Certificate Exam or higher.
5. Be a proficient rider and handler of unfamiliar horses in all situations including horse management, dressage,
cross-country and particularly show jumping.
6. Be a good ambassador for both their Pony Club and country and be able to fit into a team situation.
7. Complete the application form and associated forms.
8. Include two passport size photos and NOT a coloured photocopy of a photo (approx 40mm wide x
50mm long – no bigger!)
9. Sign the Rider Participation Agreement and Indemnity and the International Team Responsibilities forms.
• Areas are advised to use the NZPCA application form for their selection.
• Application forms should be neatly hand written by the candidate.
• We suggest that candidates photocopy the application form in order to write a draft copy.
• The application form and other documentation for the national selection must be received by NZPCA by the
closing date (21st November 2008) in order for the application to be valid.
