The NZPCA " Goodwill Trophy" Area Teams Show Jumping Championships will be held at the Tomoana Show Grounds, Hastings at the Kelt Capital Horse of the Year Show, on Sunday 22 March 2009.

 

Canterbury Pony Club is inviting members who will be show jumping at the 2009 Kelt Capital Horse of the Year Show to trial for a place. Interested members must compete in at least 3 of the 5 trials.

When entering please state you are trialing so that the organisers put you in the same class as other trialists.  Please enter at the competition height of 1.05m (ponies) or 1.10m. (hacks).

Area Teams SJ - Conditions of Entry

 

  1. The competition will be run under SJNZ Show Jumping Rules – article 264/273 3.2
  2. Four riders constitutes a team comprising 2 ponies and 2 horses (no other combinations will be permitted). Three scores to count.
  3. One mount per rider.
  4. Pony riders to be under 17 years – Article 255 – Young, Junior, Pony, Children & Entry Riders
  5. Round 1:        -           All teams        

                              -           Pony - 1:05      Horse - 1:10    325m/min

                              -           Ponies to jump first

      Round 2:        -           The number of teams may be reduced

                              -           The fourth rider need not start if his effort will not affect the result.

                              -           The course may be shortened                      

                              -           Pony - 1.10      Horse - 1.15    350m/min

                              -           Reverse team order – ponies to jump first

  1. If a specified # of teams go through to the second round and there is equality of teams faults after the first round, more teams will go through to the second round.
  2. Elimination:    -           If 2 or more riders are ‘E’ in either round, then the team is ‘E’.

                              -          If a team qualifies to start in the second round all four can rider  even if 1 rider is ‘E’ in the first round.

                              -           30 penalties for ‘E’.

  1. Placings:        -           Total penalties in Rounds 1 and 2 of the best 3 riders in each round

-          If there is equality of points after the second round for the first place only, a jump off will be required – 1 rider from each team only - Article 264 8.2.2

-          Teams to jump off will ride a shortened course at 1.10 against the clock.

  1. Team placings to fourth place.
  2. Prizegiving:   - placed teams (all team members) and manager must present themselves for the presentation.
  3. Team members must be financial members of NZPCA and abide by Club and Branch Rules 2.19 Working Rallies and 2.20 Attendance at Working Rallies.
  4. Riders entering this class do not have to be members of ESNZ or pay ground levies.
  5. No stabling or yards are available to riders who only enter this event.
  6. Members competing in other classes as well as Class 49 must send their entry, ground levy and stabling fees to the KCHOY.
  7. Areas are to submit their entries to the NZPCA Executive Officer by 11 February 2009. No individual entries for this class will be accepted.
  8. Entry fee is $100 (GST incl) per team.
  9. The process of team selection will be at the discretion of each area.
