We still have a couple of places left for the Lucinda Green Clinic on Wed 1st and 2nd of Feb so get in now so you don't miss out.

You are invited to attend a WORLD first Presentation to be held at Mcleans Island.

Andrew Mclean & Lucinda Green will be giving a presentation at Mcleans Island on Friday February the 3rd of January.

“Never before has two of the world’s most acclaimed people in theory and practice combined to present their knowledge and techniques simultaneously. Lucinda Green has been one of the most successful event riders the world has ever seen, while Andrew McLean is currently the most acclaimed and published scientist in the emerging field of Equitation Science with a top-level eventing background. As a world first, New Zealand will therefore witness a fascinating dialogue that will yield an untold wealth of knowledge and the synthesis of tradition, advanced practice, innovation, logic, common sense and empirical theory in the training of the event horse.”

This presentation is only $30 per person or $50 if you wish to attend both the Dressage and Eventing Presentations over the two days.

Andrew Mclean will also be running a Dressage Presentation to kick off the South Island Dressage Champs on Thursday the 2nd of February from 5 to 7:30pm.

These two Clinics are being run by Donald Thomson and Bronny Scott of Equintessential in conjunction with Dressage Canterbury and Eventing Canterbury.

Any questions please phone Donald on 342 9221.

Our ever popular Twilight Series begins on the 25th of January and runs each Wednesday evening for 4 weeks.

Equintessential will be again sponsoring this series with prizes to 3rd in each class with ribbons to 6th and an accumulator for the series.

Lots happening out on the training ground with our Eventing membership approaching the 220 mark and our riders are enjoying the three new 60 x 20m Dressage Arenas.

We are looking for some volunteers to build 20 new 65cm jumps.

These jumps will allow us to grow our membership and to provide the training ground with greater versatility.

It will also allow us to run ESNZ level 1 class if we so desire and to host greater numbers of Riders on our popular Pony club camps over the holiday periods.

If you think you would like to give this a try (Building Jumps) at a working bee please email  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

We will then arrange a time that can suit the biggest group and see if we can make a dent in it.

Donations of Money or material for this would also be gratefully received.

We will also be having a working bee or two prior to our 1st major Eventing Trial on the Saturday March the 3rd.

Keep an eye out on Facebook or Eventing Canterbury website for this

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
